Terms of booking

Deposit

For bookings due before 28 February of following year:

A deposit of 50% is required at the time of booking.

The deposit is non-refundable in the event that, for any reason, you are unable to take up the accommodation except as indicated below under “Cancellation”.

For bookings falling after 28 February of the following year:

A non-refundable booking fee of £25 will secure your dates until January of the year for which dates are reserved.

In January of that year we will write to you with a request for payment of the deposit less the booking fee to confirm your booking. If you do not wish to proceed with the booking or do not pay the deposit balance by 31 January then the booking fee will be your only cost.

Balance payment

The balance of the hire charge is due 6 weeks before the commencement of the holiday.

The balance payment, once made, is non-refundable except as indicated below under “Cancellation”.

Methods of payment

The deposit and balance of rental may be paid by cheque, or direct bank credit (details will be provided when the booking is confirmed). Payment may also be made by Credit or debit Card – an email invoice will be issued.

Cancellation

It is essential that should you need to cancel for any reason you let us know immediately by e-mail or telephone (confirmed in writing) that you will be unable to take up the accommodation and we will then make every effort to re-let the period.

In the event that cancellation is not advised in advance of the six week balance payment deadline (and the balance has not been paid) then the balance payment will remain due (unless the period is re-let).

As soon as you notify that you are unable to take up the accommodation we will make every effort to gain a replacement booking but the closer to the start date that you notify us then the less likely we will be able to gain such replacement booking.

Refunds on cancellation

In the event that you cancel for any reason monies paid in respect of the accommodation are non-refundable unless we are able to re-let the whole period.

If we are successful in re-letting the entire period then we will refund to you the lower of the amount that you have paid and the amount that is actually received for the period in question from re-letting (adjusted by any additional advertising, Agency or similar costs to achieve the re-let).

Such refund will be made by cheque at the end of the period initially booked.

Covid19 – Temporary variation of cancellation terms.

The cancellation and refund terms are amended so that where any booking is unable to be fulfilled due to the imposition of Government regulations (lockdown) then the deposit will be carried over to an equivalent period before the end of 2021 (dates by agreement) or a full refund will be made. In the event that the deferment necessitates a change from low to high season an additional payment equivalent to 75% of the difference between the cost of the weeks in 2021 will become payable by the guest. If the booking moves from high to low season the balance payment will be adjusted to reflect the low season rate.

N.B. This waiver only applies in the event that there is a lockdown (National, at your address or for Parc Drae) and not to personal illness in respect of which you should obtain travel insurance in the normal way.

Travel/Holiday Insurance

You are strongly recommended to take out appropriate insurance cover.

General

Bedding, towels, heating and electricity are included in the price.

At the end of the holiday the property should, please, be left in a clean and tidy condition, but we do not expect you to undertake a detailed clean - you are, after all, on holiday.

Any minor breakages/damages should be reported so that we can ensure that subsequent guests are not affected.

Only in the event of substantial damage would we seek to obtain redress from the hirer where that damage appears to be due to negligence or carelessness. 

Parc Drae is available from 4 p. m. on the day of arrival and you are asked to depart by 9.30 a.m. on the day of departure.

Parc Drae is non-smoking.

We do not accept dogs.

Electric Vehicle charging

There is a Type 2 7Kw socket (untethered).

Use of the socket to charge your car is complementary but you will need to coordinate with the owner who may need to charge their own car.

You will normally be asked to use reserved charging to take advantage of off peak rates.

You will need to bring your own charging cable(s).

Your personal information (Data)

The personal information you provide (including but not limited to name, address, phone number & email address) will be held by me for the purpose of administering your booking.

I may also use the information for the purposes of contacting you regarding the possibility of future holidays in Parc Drae.

Your information will not be shared with any outside party unless required by law.

Internet access

The free Wi-Fi is provided on the understanding that there may be periods where the service is unavailable due to line or equipment problems and that the proprietor cannot be held responsible for any interruptions. The hirer is responsible for content downloaded and the proprietor reserves the right to implement content filtering.

Availability of property

The proprietor will do their utmost to ensure that the property is available for your use on the commencement date.

In the unlikely event that the property becomes uninhabitable for any reason such as, but not limited to, fire, vandalism, external impact, etc., then the proprietor’s liability is limited to refunding the entire hire charge for the period booked. Should this unfortunate situation arise, you will be advised as soon as the proprietor becomes aware of such issue.

Owners’ right of entry

Normally the owners will not enter the property whilst you are staying but there may be times when this is unavoidable such as escorting meter readers who call without appointment, replacing equipment that has become defective, or if we notice a window to be insecure or hear that the shower room fan has been left running.

Access statement

Parc Drae is suitable only for ambulant persons and is not capable of economic adaptation to accommodate wheel chair users.

There is a step up from the parking area which is approximately 6 inches high and the door threshold is also approximately 6 inches on the outside.

Within the bungalow all floors are on one level.

Subject to prior notice the welcoming cream tea will be provided as gluten free, lactose free or diabetic.

For the hard of hearing the television is capable of displaying subtitles to assist enjoyment of programmes.
